Ahoj RP,

i díky aktivitě našich Pirátů v PPI bylo před-domluveno/navrženo, aby se čtvrtý ročník konferenci Think Twice, které se každoročně účastníme, konal v Praze (na podzim). Oficiální dopis za předsednictvo PPI přikládám níže. Technicky vzato se po nás chce posvěcení předsednictvem, protože PPI předsednictvo má rádo formality a oficiality, jinak to samozřejmě bude ležet na bedrech ZO; a ocenili by i finanční příspěvek, dle loňských ročníků cca 500 - 1 000 EUR by bylo super (800 přispěli v Izraeli). Jelikož to bude na podzim, lze to koncipovat jako velkou akci mezi eurovolbami a krajskými volbami, ukazující mimojiné, jak zatím naši europoslanci fungují, že jsme mezinárodní jedničkou a máme silný hlas ve všech mezinárodních pirátských organizacích. Samozřejmě důležitou součástí konference jsou vždy zajímaví nepirátští speakeři, kteří obzvláště v Praze mohou přitáhnout odborné publikum mimo naši bublinu.

V souvislosti s tím bych měla návrh, pokud byste s konceptem konference souhlasili. V letošním rozpočtu mi přebývají nějaké finance, a na příští rok je financí v rozpočtu ZO poměrně málo. Ráda bych se tedy zeptala, zdali by bylo možné schválit příspěvek pro konferenci z rozpočtu ZO 2018, aby se tyto prostředky alokovaly efektivně.

V podstatě vás tedy žádám o schválení dvou usnesení (klidně přeformulujte):

Předsednictvo České pirátské strany vítá zájem předsednictva Pirate Parties International o pořádání čtvrtého ročníku konference Think Twice (TT4) v Praze a poskytuje záštitu PPCZ nad touto akcí.

Republikové předsednictvo schvaluje záměr v maximální výši 1 000 EUR jako příspěvek PPI pro konferenci Think Twice v Praze.

Dear Czech friends,

We propose to you the organization of the fourth annual Think Twice Conference (TT4) to take place in Prague during the fall of 2019. Initial brainstorming discussions were held with relevant stakeholders, and there is positive feedback about this proposal. This letter represents an informal proposal to be approved by your board, which will allow us to commence planning of the event. Please feel free to share this document with your colleagues, as we wish to collaborate and receive feedback about structuring this event. The ideas presented below represent our initial pitch, and we will revise them accordingly. The following letter includes notes from the brainstorming session conducted by our current initial committee, which is composed of requests for support.

I. Planning Committee: We plan to establish a committee with three subcommittees (below) to spearhead the organization of the event. We encourage the Czech Pirate Party to spread the word amongst its members to join the Planning Committee.

Within the committee we will require three subcommittees: 1) The academic committee, 2) The technical support group, and 3) The logistics team

1) The academic committee will review submissions, decide on which submissions are accepted, provide written correspondence to speakers, moderate panel discussions, and organize the written submissions into publishable proceedings.

2) The technical support group will be in charge of recording equipment, streaming the conference online, setting up microphones, speakers, etc.,

3) The logistics team will coordinate human resources, fundraising, finances, press releases, translations, the details such as name tags, and all other matters to facilitate a smooth conference.

The following people are the current Committe Members on behalf of the PPI: Michal Gill, Ladislav Koubek, Keith Goldstein, Gregory Engels, Koen De Voegt

II. Content: We request recommendations about content, which will be debated by the TT4 Planning Committee in conjunction with the boards of PPCZ and PPI.

III. Facilities VER2: As per informal discussion between Ivan Bartos, Mikulas Peksa (PPCZ) and Keith Goldstein, Ladislav Koubek (PPI) held in Prague in November 2018, we would like to kindly request logistical and financial support for organization of the conference. The new Pirate Center opened in Prague could be used for the smaller events (capacity approx 60-80 people). As in previous TT events, we are also considering a larger one-day event that will be open to the public, which would be held at a larger venue or public space that should be arranged (informally discussed with Zdenek Hrib). Considerations about the venues will be made in line with the initial financing procured for the event, along with the number of registrations received for speakers and attendees.

IV. Funding: Would PPCZ be willing to financially contribute towards organization of the conference?

We would appreciate any input on the topics mentioned in this letter and above all, we hope for your general approval of the event even taking place in your country. We are convinced that an established international conference of this kind will benefit both the Czech Pirate Party as well as the PPI.
